As many of you know, BHE started this Blogger Butt Smackdown at the first of the year. As I have said before, I have been amazed by the progress my fellow bloggers have made while participating in this "challenge" of sorts. I have also said that I'm not really participating because I am NOT good at this diet thing, and I usually fail. If I don't play, I can't lose, therefore I don't have to admit my failures - haha I'm not real good at that. That's kind of like admitting to your husband you are wrong, and I am never wrong, so I wouldn't really know how to do that ;)
Anyway, about 4 weeks ago my husband and I went on this "let's try a better budget" thing. We thought it was a good idea so we could manage to afford to send our children to college (reality set in when we started visiting colleges- that's a post for another day!) So, because I really, really like to spend money on shoes, clothes, etc. I just knew this was going to be a challenge- more than you know. Wait, how did this go from weight loss to money saving???
So where was I? Oh yeah, so, I've been bringing my lunch EVERYDAY since that fateful "better budget" day, and when I put my pants on this morning, I noticed my belt wasn't fitting quite right. When I looked down, I realized that WOOOO HOOOO, I could move the buckle AN ENTIRE HOLE! That's right folks, I have lost an ENTIRE INCH! I'm not really sure when that happened, but I am extremely proud of myself! How many pounds you ask? I don't know, I don't get on the scale- it tends to yell at me to GET OFF so I just avoid the humililation.
So, there you have it, I am secretly participating in this damn Blogger Butt Smackdown, although I will only share positive results :) You have all inspired me!

That was then.....
I have been connecting with old high school friends on FaceBook and they kept posting all these old high school pictures. After I told my mom this she decided to pull out the photo albums- haha it must be nice to be so organized that you have your albums in date order. Oh how I wish I could be her, haha! Anyway, she brought me my high school one and Cheerleader Girl and I got a kick out of looking at my old cheerleading, homecoming and prom pictures. And then there was this.....................
OOOOOooooo how I wish I was that tiny again. But the hair ??? Not quite as big as some, but BHE are you jealous ? And how about that car- 1979 Chevy Monte Carlo. Gosh I loved that car...Posted by mom x 2 at 3:49 PM 6 comments

Husband Tag
5)Who eats more sweets? Definitely me. He requires less sugar to keep his sweetness level up. I, however, require lots and lots.
6)Who is the better singer? The radio for sure.... it beats us both out on any given day :)
8)Who does the laundry? Usually me, but he helps out... a lot. At least when he is in town.
11)Who mows the lawn? Bud, haha.
12)Who cooks dinner? Whatever chef is working at our favorite restaurant. Just kidding, I'd say its a 50/50 thing when he is in town. But he is the grill master for sure!

He's a keeper !!!!

Bit of a mid-life crisis
I’m not sure at what age “mid-life” begins, but I’m thinking it doesn’t really matter. I think I am having a crisis regardless of what part of my life I might be in (beginning, middle, or Heaven forbid, the end).
I am turning 40 this year- YUCK. Getting older never really bothered me, and most of my friends are past this milestone, so I am not sure why this year, this particular birthday is bothering me (note, it’s not until July, so why its an issue already, I’m not sure about that either). My husband says we won’t have a “40 years old party” but a “39 again” party. Wtf is the difference! Anyway….
I went to THAT doctor a couple weeks ago, and she told me I was fine, but that this little issue I’ve got going on is hormonal- wow- really? I’m only 39 (again!).
My youngest, Bud, just got his learners’ permit to drive a freaking car…. A real car, not a go-cart, not a golf-cart, a real life honest to goodness 4000 pound vehicle. (Did I mention I am turning 40- Lord help my heart). He’s a good driver as far as inexperience goes, but for heavens sake, it’s just one more thing to mark off my parental list of things to accomplish. Cheerleader Girl got her license last June, and for some reason that didn’t affect me like this one has… maybe because I knew then, I still had one more…. Well so much for one more. I still remember him as a little boy still to small to see over the steering wheel of the riding lawn mower while riding on Papa's lap!
And then, my oldest, Cheerleader Girl, is looking at colleges. I think THAT is really what is bringing all of this to a head. She is a junior this year, but we are already planning for classes in her senior year, registering for SAT’s, scheduling college visits, and applying for scholarships. We are really close, so I have been very involved in the process, which will make her going away that much harder : (
I know, I know, I should probably be thankful that I have a healthy family, I am healthy, albeit, hormonal, I have a job, my husband still has a job, and we can still pay our bills. And I am very, very thankful, but and for God’s sake, I just want time to STOP moving, just for a little while.…. Except that I would very much like for 5 o’clock to get here first ;)

True Friends ;)
2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
3. When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.
4. When you're scared -- we will high tail it out of here.
5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining, ya big baby!!!!
6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.
7. When you are sick --Stay away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.
8. When you fall -- I'll pick you up and dust you off--
After I laugh my butt off!!
Friendship is like peeing in your pants everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth.
I received this in an email this week and I have to say this so applies to my good friend BHE. The Salesman and I finally had the opportunity last weekend to get together with BHE and Cool Breeze
eat oysters (which I thought I didn’t like until after a tall glass of Grey Goose and Sprite I realized were pretty dang good!)
We had sooo much fun on Friday night ! and then we got to do it all over again for the SUPERBOWL! (BHE thought I was going to tempt her with mini éclairs, but I didn’t.) There is not enough room on the internet to share the number of laughs we shared... so I'll just leave you with this:
I wonder what this weekend will have in store. I don’t think I will see BHE, but maybe that Grey Goose will show it’s head :) I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend !
